e-Government (short for electronic government, also known as digital government, online government or transformational government) is a diffused neologism used to refer to the use of information and communication technology to provide and improve government services, transactions and interactions with citizens, businesses, and other arms of government. Government should take measure of enhancing affordability of ICT components that are needed for absorbing the benefits of egovernment services by poor people. This may include an appropriate policy measure needed to lower the cost of hardware and all online access tools like PCs, laptops, mobile phones and other digital devices associated with e-government applications.
In addition, government should improve the network and provide better electricity in underserved areas. This is critical to achieving e-government goals in rural areas of the country.
